Coldplay Manila!

Several months ago, Coldplay announced that they’ll be having a concert here in the Philippines – as expected, tickets sold out right away, so even if you DID have the means to watch their concert, you couldn’t watch (and that’s already around 35,000 tickets)! My best friend, Courtney (whom you probably would recognize from this blog post) is an avid fan and was devastated when she found out that she wouldn’t be able to watch. As a supportive best friend, I couldn’t just stand by and do nothing – so I searched for every single contest for tickets available and joined as much as I could. Our last shot was Pepsi’s contest:

[Translation for international readers: “You still have a chance to win Coldplay Live in Manila tickets!” Don’t lose the chance to see and experience Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams Tour with #PepsiSnapAndSync! Record yourself on Instagram holding a Pepsi product while lip syncing the featured Coldplay song of the week, share and tag us! Submission of entries is until March 30 so join now!”] (Photo from PepsiPH’s Instagram.

I swallowed my pride and embarrassment and used my ~communication arts skills~ to good use and made the video (which can be viewed on my Instagram (@philosophieyu). We had so much fun making the video and after a few days –

WE WON!

So fast-forward to April 4, 2017 (Tuesday):

(Yes, my face is having some problems right now – it’s been a really stressful term AHHA)

Color Manila Run 2017!

[Ahh, the first post of the new year! Sorry for my inactiveness; last term’s workload just killed me! Anyways, on to the post! :)]

Last year, one of my best friends – Courtney – and I went to Color Manila Run (in fact, I wrote a post about itย here), so this year, we decided to go back and experience the color fun again!

[This year,ย Color Manila Runย was held on the 8th of January.]

Throwback to last year!

At four o’clock in the morning, Courtney and her sister picked me up from my place and off we headed for SM Mall of Asia. We decided to have breakfast before going to the event area.

“The calm before the storm.” Here we are (Courtney – L, me -R) before the race!

Last year, we ran the route for 3k and this year, we wanted to challenge ourselves more and went for the 5k route.

Annie (The Musical)

Just wanted to share something really quick!

Last November 13, 2016, my best friend Courtney and I went to watch Annie with my family! Actually, this day wasn’t planned at all! My sister got sick and we had an extra ticket last minute – luckily, Courtney was free! This was the most spur-of-the-moment thing we’ve probably done so far.

The souvenir program is just so cute (not to mention price friendly – at Php 100)!

Breakfast at Maginhawa x Breakout Philippines

A few weeks ago, I met up with some of my friends – we started our day with some brunch at Theo’s Cafรฉ!

As soon as we saw the tarp saying “Now Serving Breakfast”, we knew that we were going to end up eating here.

Pardon, four hungry girls coming in!

Need to come back one of these days to eat these.

MMMMMMM.

Since it IS breakfast time, it would only make sense to eat something “breakfasty”.

I ordered the Waffle + Bacon + Egg – which tasted so good! The waffle is soft and had a creamy taste, the bacon is just the right balance of crunchy and chewy (with the right tad of sweetness), and the egg is done just the way I like it (sunny side up with a runny yolk). On top of it all, it also came with free coffee!

Look at that beauty.

Bienvenue aux Philippines! (Welcome to the Philippines!)

Last week (October 6 – 9, 2016), my good friend Tiffany visited the Philippines! (If you don’t remember her – I mentioned her in a few of my previous blog posts –ย hereย is one of them! I met her when I was doing my exchange program in Japan!) We were so excited – and after weeks of planning, this is what we did while she was here (in my perspective)!

October 6, 2016 (Thursday):

(Well – I’m gonna start by saying that she had her first meal in Jollibee, HAHA!) (She liked it!)

(I didn’t take a photo huhu)

October 7, 2016 (Friday):

On her first “official” whole day here,ย we went museum hopping! First, weย attempted to go to the school museum (long story):

(so close, yet so far)

ย – then, we headed for the National Museum! (I’m so proud of her HAHA we commuted going there!)

We both thought that this painting was really pretty and it accurately told the story of how cloth is weaved!

We bust out laughing when we saw his face – HAHA

These faces, I swear – were so funny. The past behind these faces isn’t as funny, though.
